Abstract: The effect of antimony addition on the microstructure of Mg-Al-Si magnesium matrix composite was investigated. The addition of Sb can modify the morphology of Mg2Si particles which have Chinese script shape to fine polygonal one. Magnesium matrix composite with Alborex whisker was successfully fabricated by using a squeeze infiltration method. Tensile strength and elongation were increased in the Sb modified alloy and the composite at both room and high temperatures.
