Hydrochloric Acid-Promoted Synthesis of cBN via Hydrothermal Route

Abstract: Single phase crystalline cubic boron nitride (cBN) with high yield was prepared by hydrothermal route at low temperature, using hydrochloric acid (HCl) as the promoter. The promotion effect of HCl on the synthesis of cBN is briefly discussed.
