Defects in an as-quenched CuZnAlMnNi shape memory alloy

Abstract: The defects in an as-quenched CuZnAlMnNi shape memory alloy were systemically observed by transmission electron microscopy. It was found that the dislocation loops in fine martensite plates generated during quenching extend along the direction of width or length, and form the stacking faults along certain angles with the plate boundaries or approximately parallel to the boundaries.
