Abstract: Al2O3-13 wt pct TiO2 coating deposited by direct current plasma spray consists of nanostructured region and microlamellae. Bend test shows that the ceramic coating can sustain some deformation without sudden failure. The deformation is achieved through the movement of nano-particles in the nanostructured region under tensile stress.
