Abstract: A brief summary of our recent research progress towards template synthesis of porous structures in response to rapidly growing emerging applications like photonics and energy storage is provided. We demonstrate how templating-synthesis strategies can be used to fabricate porous materials of different pore sizes, different compositions, and different morphologies. It should be noted that this is not a review article. Recent comprehensive and critical review papers in this field can be found in the literature [1~9].
